We?re looking for a hardworking Software Engineer to help take
Zendesk products to the next level in terms of functionality and
integrations. You?ll be joining a team that works on our Explore
analytics data engine and datastores. Explore is a complex reporting
application which provides analytics for Zendesk data. You?ll have
the skills, experience, wisdom, patience and determination to work
with the team to maintain and support the product to meet our
customers needs.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO EVERYDAY

Work collaboratively with a small focused self-organising team to
deliver positive outcomes for our many customers.

Work on a large scope of projects: data engine and data stores
(Redshift & PostgreSQL)

Ship your code to production continuously and improve the experience
of Zendesk customers.

When debugging a tricky intermittent issue you won?t give up until
the feature behaves as expected, the root cause has been identified
and an automated test has been put in place to avoid the issue
reoccurring.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
*
At least two years of experience in backend technologies. Ideally with
the team**Apply on the website**;s main language: Scala and its
ecosystem (Akka, Akka HTTP, Circe, Slick).
*
Experience in relational database management systems and SQL.
*
Ambition and high motivation to understand complex systems, focused on
identifying and decomposing requirements.
*
You enjoy whiteboarding problems with your peers and apply the
scientific method to find a pragmatic solution that is the best fit
(on balance) for the identified problem space.
*
Excellent communication skills, you can effectively express your point
of view to others and just as important, actively listen to others
ensuring a good discussion.
*
You are hungry to work on a huge existing code base and improve it.
